Great safety equipment for the elderly

I purchased this electric lantern as a safety precaution for an elderly parent who is living independently... I am always concerned about a power outage and this lantern is the answer till I can arrive to assist her... It's light enough for her to carry with its attached handle where she can bring it from room to room... The lantern gives off enough light to fully illuminate a large area and is easy to operate by just turning a dial... It is also dimmable which is great... A flashlight was no longer the answer to her getting around in the darkness should the need arise... I set it up with the batteries and put it on her bedside table where it is within reach... I hope she never needs to use it but I have a bit less anxiety knowing she will never be in the dark for long...
